Director ASRC meets Dr. Mohaghegh from ISDR

Dr. Mohaghagh, Regional Manager of ISDR in Ciaro accompanied by Mr. Sadatinejad, Special Coordinator of ISDR in Tehran visited ASRC in Tehran on 25^th November, 2007. 

Dr. Mohaghagh talked about the performance and achievements of ISDR in disaster reduction across the region. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Fatemi Aghda gave a brief overview of the need for establishment of this Center and its institutional set up. He highlighted objectives and gave details of the plans and programs of ASRC. It is hoped that joint efforts made with the cooperation of Asian and Pacific countries would bear fruit for the region in disaster risk reduction, in line with the Hyogo Framework for Action. Dr. Fatemi briefed the Mission on the Constitution and Action Plan of ASRC which is being developed by a special  working group designated for this purpose with  representatives from the  Ministry of  Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, ISDR  and ASRC members presided by Dr. Fatemi Aghda, Head ASRC.
